Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) opens a New Laboratory Complex
Uganda National Bureau of Standards, has setup a new state-of-the-art food safety laboratory complex that was commissioned by December, 2019. The investment is worth 6.5 Million US Dollars fully funded by the government of Uganda. This effort is in addition to opening up regional laboratories in towns of Gulu, Mbarara and Mbale in order to fulfil UNBS mandate of protecting the health of consumers and facilitating trade. The demand for UNBS services have henceforth increased locally, regionally and inter-regionally as regards to hands-on practical trainings on use of various analytical equipment and testing services for various food products.
